Korboo Cheese Masters .... about the name

Korboo is a nod to the famous French fable by Jean de la Fontaine ‘Le Corbeau et le Renard’ from 1668 in which the raven stole a piece of cheese but was in turn outsmarted by the fox. The Flemish phonetic spelling of Korboo symbolizes the balance between Flemish and French speakers in the facility municipality of Wemmel where Korboo Cheese Masters opened its first store.

Finally, the golden crown and piece of cheese in the logo represent the superior quality that Korboo aims to offer its customers. Good cheese is craftsmanship, good cheese is delicious, and good cheese has rightly become somewhat of a luxury product.

Karl Bolle

Cheese is art and cheese is above all passion!

For more than 15 years, Karl Bolle has immersed himself in this. In 2010, he obtained the certificate of Cheese Master at Syntra Midden-Vlaanderen and since then, his idea of opening his own cheese shop has matured and he has further developed his knowledge about cheese. Additionally, he took wine courses at the CVO in Aalst.

After a career of 25 years in human resources and in executive positions at large, international companies, Karl decided in 2021 to follow his passion and make his dream come true. The idea can therefore be at least described as aged, to put it in cheese terms.

Reinout Carmeliet

Reinout Carmeliet has been passionate about gastronomy and cheese in particular since his childhood. Reinout completed an exclusive internship with the most iconic French cheese affineur, Fromagerie Antony, in Alsace and then gained experience at Kaasaffineurs Van Tricht as cheese and wine manager. His education in accounting and taxation also provides him with the necessary financial background. At Sintra, he obtained the diploma of sommelier.

In 2022, the time is ripe for Reinout to partner with Karl to realize the further growth of Korboo Cheese Masters and share his passion for cheese and wine. For the direct import of quality wines, Korboo Cheese Masters can rely on the extensive network of winemakers that Reinout has built.
